Euromoney Recognizes GulfMerger as Best M&A House in Kuwait for 2010

GulfMerger, the Middle East's leading middle-market M&A firm, was named 'Best M&A House' in Kuwait for 2010 by Euromoney, the global financial publication, during Euromoney's Awards for Excellence ceremony held in Beirut.

Regarded as the benchmark awards for financial services globally, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence are now in their 20th consecutive year. This year's awards process, which began in April, attracted over 600 submissions from the world's banks. Euromoney's dedicated research team and awards panel then rated all the submissions on both quantitative and qualitative factors such as KPI's, financial ratios and innovation over the 12 month period to decide the award winners.

GulfMerger Chief Executive Officer Yann Pavie, who received the award at the ceremony, said, "In just under three years since our establishment, GulfMerger has grown to become a reputed, award-winning, world-class investment bank with a unique experience of managing cross-border M&A transactions in the Middle East both on the buy-side and the sell-side of transactions. This is the second time in the last three years that we receive this award and we thank Euromoney for their award and continued recognition of our work."

GulfMerger has successfully advised on over 18 M&A transactions with a combined disclosed value of approximately one billion dollars, including the recent sale of Sahaab Aircraft Leasing to Jazeera Airways, the sale of an equity interests in Hempel Middle East to Hempel A/S, and Ebla Computers Consultancy to Capinnova Investment Bank. GulfMerger also recently advised on the 51% acquisition of Comprehensive Multiple Transportation Company by City Group as well as approached and secured from IFC, a subsidiary of the World Bank, a $30 million loan facility to help City Group fund its regional expansion plans.
